This Privacy Policy explains how Bidro LLC ("Bidro," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile applications, our website at joinbidro.com, and related services (together, the "Services"). Bidro is a marketplace that connects homeowners ("Customers") with independent home-service professionals ("Pros") in and around Denton County, Texas.
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password. Pros additionally provide business information such as business name, service categories, and service area.
- Profile and verification information. Pros submit identity verification information and insurance documentation, including a certificate of insurance (COI). We review this information to determine eligibility to accept jobs.
- Job information. When Customers post a job, we collect the details they provide, which may include the service address, description of the work, scheduling preferences, and photos of the property area to be serviced.
- Communications. Messages sent between Customers and Pros through the Services, and communications you send to us (for example, support emails), are collected and stored.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. We receive limited information from our processors, such as transaction amounts, payment status, and the last four digits of a card. Pros provide payout information (such as bank account details) directly to our payment processor.
- Reviews and ratings. Reviews, ratings, and related feedback submitted after completed jobs.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information. We collect information about the device and software you use to access the Services, such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and identifiers, and information about how you interact with the Services (such as pages or screens viewed and actions taken).
- Approximate and precise location. With your permission, we collect device location to show relevant local jobs and Pros and to support job logistics. Customers' service addresses are collected as part of job posts. You can disable device location access in your device settings, though some features may not work without it.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and to understand aggregate site usage.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including matching Customers with Pros and facilitating quotes, scheduling, messaging, and payments;
- Verify Pro identity and insurance status;
- Calculate Pro rankings, which are based on factors such as completed jobs, review quality, and reliability;
- Process transactions and send related information such as confirmations and receipts;
- Send service communications, such as job updates, quotes, and support responses;
- With your consent where required, send you news about Bidro (you can opt out at any time);
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements;
- Analyze usage to improve the Services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use paid placement based on Pro payments to influence rankings.
3. How we share information
- Between Customers and Pros. Sharing information between the two sides of the marketplace is core to how Bidro works. When a Customer posts a job, relevant details (including the general area and job description, and — once a Pro is hired — the service address and contact details needed to perform the work) are shared with Pros. When a Pro quotes or accepts a job, their business name, profile, reviews, and verification status are shared with the Customer.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, identity verification, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support tooling. These providers may use the information only to perform services for us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bidro, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Bidro is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
- With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your consent.
4. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations (including tax and payment records), and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or de-identify it.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can review and update most account information in the app. For anything else, contact us.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by emailing support@joinbidro.com with the subject "Privacy request", or by using the account-deletion option in the app. We will delete your information except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as completed-transaction records.
- Marketing opt-out. You can opt out of non-essential communications via the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us.
- Location and notifications. You can control device location access and push notifications in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law regarding access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We honor such requests as required by the laws that apply to you. To exercise any right, contact support@joinbidro.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Users outside the United States
The Services are operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you access the Services from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was last revised.
